The Karazhan castle or whatever was there even before TBC, but the only available thing there were the crypts underneath it. After TBC The Violet Eye realizes that something must be done aboout the evil forces inside but the faction cannot fight this huge war by itself so they started offering huge rewards to any noble hero strong enough to encounter the madness inside. Basicaly all of the content in there is demons and undeads - the only remaining thing of the last strong and powerful tower of Karazhan also the home of Medivh himself.
The story line is so huge that im just not in a move to type it here lol. Starts with Tower of Azora (Elwynn) through the invasion of the Burning Legion and the freedom of the Orcs (this event can be seen in CoT: Durnholde Keep and the resque of Thrall) then the temporary peace between the humans at Theramore and the Orcs of Ogrimar ... and ends with Medivh opening the Dark Portal (this event can be seen in CoT Black Morass) then the Lich King himself taking control of Karazhan ...
Then its you - going to fight against the mighty undead dragons and ghosts inside the tower my fingers hurt

The Burning Legion cursed the orcs so they fighted Allies in first war....since then they fight...Troll's JUngles were destroyed by the allies and they join Horde , Undead's were once humans btu killed , and turned into forasaken rotten pile of bones...lol,Taurens were pushed into their grounds by the Centaurs,so they asked orcs for help..in exchange orcs wanted they join horde...and so we go , YOu see hordes arent bad ?

hehe don't care with hords but they ugly lol and who start the war its undead and hords so thos enemy for us

Ok here is what actualy happened ...

The Burning Legion started the war against all the creatures of Azeroth including humans , elfs, gmones and dwarfs. The Lich King himself started a huge campaign in the so called Eastern and Western Plaguelands unleashing a plague which kills all the humans who were the inhabitans of that areas at that time. After everything was dead the humans were brought back to live to be the mindless undead minions of the Lich King called The Scourge. The Scourge's residence was Naxxramass which evil leaders were defeated and banished into Outland.
The other effect of the plague was a huge nomber of the Scourge beggining to return their minds and denying any service to The Burning Legion. These undeads were called "Forsaken". Soon after that they took control over the already abendoned lands of Tirisfal glades and made Undercity their capitol. They were no longer slaves to the Burning Legion but their enemies.
The Orcs were corrupted by the Buning Legion transforming them into the distructive horde. Then their power was unleashed upon the races in Azeroth. Soon after the first war ended the orcs were imprisoned by the humans for long years. But then a mighty warchief was borned and named Thrall who led his race for freedom of the corruption of The Burning Legion and freedom from the human race. Soon after that the humans,the elfs and the orcs unite for another battle against the Burning Legion.
The dwarves were literaly miners and nothing else. They had some hunters and warriors to hunt down thir dinner and to prottect their cities but they were not prepared for a war in any meanings. After the Orcs strated their invasion they were enslaved by the demons commanding orcs making them slaves. Then they were forced to dig faster and deeper into the Mountines of Redridge. This triggered a series of events which in the end unleashed the old gods of the mountine's Molten Core like Ragnaross and Garr. When Ragnaross was found almoust all of the Redridge was burned to the ground. These areas were called Burning Steppes and Searing Gordge. The last remaining areas of the once beautiful and green Redridge is now the zone around Lakeshire.
Many dwarven strongholds were destroyed but the mighty capitol Ironforge was never breached by the invading horde.

The war between the alliance and the horde was triggered again by the Burning Legion. The Lich King himself sent his lower rank demons to organize series of events to comfuse the orcs and the humans that they are preparing to invade eachother. The plan worked and the war realy started. But then Lady Proudmoor killed the demons and Thrall stopped the orcs at the very doorstep of the human's keep - North Watch located in the Barrens.
After that the peace was just an illusion which was never going to be a reality again.
